Manchester United reach agreement for Lindelof transfer

They claim that the Swedish defender will fly to Manchester on Wednesday to complete the transfer following his participation in Swedens fixture against Norway.

United boss Jose Mourinho has been a fan of the Sweden worldwide for several months and came close to signing him in January.

Manchester United reached an agreement to sign Sweden defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica on Saturday.

The same report states that the 22-year-old Sweden worldwide will fly straight to Manchester on Wednesday to conclude the transfer after his country's clash with Norway on Tuesday night.

The 22-year-old, who will undergo a medical at the Old Trafford club next week, is set to become United's first signing of the summer transfer window.

United fans would every right to be sceptical about Portuguese newspaper reports suggesting Lindelof is moving to United after their confident predictions of a move last January came to nothing.

"It's the same rumours as always, all the time", Lindelof told VLT. "I say what I always say - I have a contract with Benfica, and that's what I'm focused on".

"So the answer will always be that I get on very well in Benfica and that's where my focus is". Up next, Mourinho's club will likely close a deal for Alvaro Morata as the agreements are in place.

Lindelof's hit on the dead ball may evoke memories of another United great, David Beckham.
