Bond 25 and Daniel Craig: Does the franchise need a reluctant Bond?

Bond 25, the as-yet untitled 25th film in the long-running 007 franchise, will debut in the US on November 8, 2019, EON Productions and MGM said in a joint statement on Monday.

The official United States release date is November 8, 2019 and while there is no United Kingdom date set in stone we know it will be EARLIER than in the US.

In the past, Craig has first said that he would not like to star in another Bond film since the experience of the last one was grueling.

There has been much speculation over the next Bond What is the title of the new James Bond film? However, people have been calling it Bond 25 because it is the 25 film.

Eon and MGM also said that the script would be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who have teamed up on the screenplays for the last six Bond instalments, starting with The World Is Not Enough in 1999.

"If I did another Bond movie", he added, "it would only be for the money", the legendary James Bond actor had confessed.

After the wrap of the last Bond flick "Spectre", Craig said he wanted to focus on other roles.

The companies said in a statement that details about a distribution partner, worldwide release dates and the film's cast and director would be announced "at a later date".

And now his odds of returning have been slashed and it's reported he's poised to sign on the dotted line for Bond 25.

Meanwhile, actors such as Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston and Tom Hardy have all been named as potential candidates to step into the fast cars and sharply tailored suits of Bond, MI6's secret agent 007.
