Gamescom 2017: Assassin's Creed/Final Fantasy XV Crossover Announced

He says, "This collaboration is the result of being huge fans".

One such easter egg was included in the most recent Assassin's Creed Origins Gamescom trailer.

There's no word yet whether Assassin's Creed Origins will receive any themed Final Fantasy DLC as of yet. You can check out the sweet new artwork below.

In a surprise announcement at Gamescome, Ubisoft and Square Enix unveiled a promotional crossover between the upcoming Assassin's Creed Origins, and Final Fantasy XV. That's odd enough on its own, but we also learned from today's announcement that Square Enix and Ubisoft have been teasing this new DLC for months already. First on August 30, Final Fantasy 15 players who own the Dream Egg from the Moogle Chocobo Carnival will see an Assassin-themed outfit for Noctis. The following day, August 31, the free Assassin's Festival DLC will be made available for Final Fantasy XV. This DLC is set to transform the town of Lestallum, where there will be signs and banners all over, complete with brand new activities to play. This festival will give players the ability explore the game in the style of Ubisoft's franchise while also using some of the Assassin's Abilities.

This shift is just one of many for the game, which is attempting to reinvent the mainline Assassin's Creed series, after 2016 was the first year without a new entry since 2009. Are you excited about this collaboration between the two franchises? It begins with a free DLC for FFXV called "Assassin's Festival" where your favorite FFXV royal entourage roleplay as Bayek.

At Gamescom this year Ubisoft revealed a colloboration between Assassin's Creed and Final Fantasy XV, that is as awesome as it sounds! There will also be another Assassin's Creed outfit to download.

At Gamescom, Final Fantasy XV's director told IGN that the recently announced mobile version of the game has "a chance" of coming to the Nintendo Switch.
