Skyrim VR, Fallout 4 VR And DOOM VFR Launch Dates Confirmed

Arguably still the most recognized name in virtual reality, it would make sense to release such big games on all of the main VR platforms. Or you can skip to 3:36 if you just wanna see some of Skyrim VR's motion controls in action. "Skyrim VR" is identical to the original game, first released in 2011 - instead of playing the game on a TV from first-person, you are the first-person in question when you're in VR.

That said, Bethesda had announced that it intends to bring the VR editions of its games to "as many platforms" as they can, but it seems that things didn't exactly pan out for Fallout 4 VR. Fallout 4 VR releases in the same month, on December 12 for HTC Vive.

The games will be standalone for VR, and not available as an upgrade from the existing versions. As such, it's priced at $60 on the PlayStation Store.

They'll also get to try out Doom VFR when it debuts on December 1, though that game will also launch on the HTC Vive at the same time.

If you can't get to Grapevine's Gaylord Hotel starting this Thursday, you can watch the Quake World Championships all weekend long on sites like Twitch.

Other attractions of QuakeCon include hands-on time with "The Evil Within 2", a survival horror sequel which launches on Friday 13 Oct. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will be hands-on too, at the event. Pay now, or wait for the free version, and be pestered about microtransactions either way?
