Police Search Apartments Near Last Seen Location of Missing Temple Student

On Saturday afternoon, police discovered a body believed to be Burleigh on the lakefront property of Hupperterz's grandmother in Paupack Township.

He said crime scenes were processed at Hupperterz's North Philadelphia apartment at 1708 N. 16th St. and a home in Jenkintown, which reportedly belongs to Hupperterz's mother and stepfather.

Burleigh is a commuter student from Lower Salford Township in Montgomery County.

According to 6ABC, homes in Jenkintown and Lackawanna County were also searched. Police found the man at his grandmother's home in Scranton, PA, and then obtained a search warrant for the apartment.

Philadelphia police say a man will be charged with murder in the death of a Temple University student who had been missing since early Thursday morning.

A Temple University spokesman said the school as well as multiple law enforcement agencies are working together to find Burleigh.

Temple Police posted the "Missing Person" advisory on Twitter with an image of Burleigh's face as well as what the 22 year old was last seen wearing.

"There's nothing we have so far that indicates there's a previous relationship between the two", he said.

Hours before the press conference, Burleigh's father, Ed Burleigh, announced the discovery of his daughter's body on Facebook.

Her family called university police when she didn't come home Thursday. The murder does not appear to be premeditated, investigators said.

6ABC reports police believe Burleigh was killed in Philadelphia and transported to Wayne County.

She transfered from Montgomery County Community College this year and majored in film and media arts, Temple spokesman Ray Betzner said.
