Thomas Lemar 'very happy' at Monaco despite Arsenal's late move

Now Monaco have signed Senegal forward Balde, who plays in a similar position to Lemar amid suggestions that the Frenchman has asked to leave Monaco.

The £92 million Hail Mary for Monaco's Thomas Lemar smacked of desperation and, with the player on worldwide duty for France, the approach was just too late in the day to get anything done.

Amid the transfer chaos, Lemar - also a target for Liverpool according to reports - scored a stunning goal in France's 4-0 rout of 10-man Netherlands in World Cup qualifying.

Lacazette joined the Gunners for £46 million earlier in the summer, as he left his homeland at Lyon to head for Emirates Stadium.

"You do not want to talk too much about. you have to respect what happens on the negotiation side".

Despite focusing their efforts on signing the 21-year-old, Liverpool were unable to strike an agreement, opening the door for Arsenal to pounce.

"Now I am going to go and have a good season with my club, try to keep progressing and advancing in my career".

The Gunners are said to have launched a bid in the region of £90 million, which has been accepted by the Ligue 1 champions.

'I always think first, make sure that my commitment is at the level that is expected from people paying me and have confidence in me.

City had reportedly tabled a bid worth up to £60m but Sanchez will now remain at Arsenal with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
