Police believe Paddock, a 64-year-old gambler and real estate investor, killed himself in the suite when they identified his location.

According to Lombardo, Danley remains the only person of interest in this case.

United States police say she had been living in Nevada with Paddock.

The sheriff's office, FBI and ATF held a news conference Wednesday to release the latest updates in the investigation, including a detailed timeline of events.

Authorities said that Paddock left an arsenal of 49 guns but no clear clues as to why he staged the attack on a crowd of 20,000 from a 32nd-floor window of the Mandalay Bay hotel. "I anticipate he was looking for anybody coming to take him into custody", he said.

Danley said Paddock "never said anything to me, or took any action that I was aware of, that I understood in any way to be a warning that something awful like this was going to happen".

In his vehicle, Paddock had 1,600 rounds of ammunition and 50 pounds of explosives, typically used in target shooting. "It would be hard for me to believe that" he had no help, Lombardo said.

"It is troublesome this individual was able to move this amount of gear unassisted, the amount he had unassisted", Lombardo said.

Lombardo said police had found had 1600 rounds of ammunition and several containers of an explosive commonly used in target shooting that totalled 22kg in his auto.

Twelve of his rifles were fitted with so-called bump stocks, officials said, allowing the guns to be fired nearly as though they were automatic weapons. It's been over twelve hours, and those looking for answers about what possibly could have been Paddock's motive, are still without closure.

"There are reports her ID was used for booking the hotel or some such detail", Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said.

"Don't get up", Melanie Trump said after entering the hospital room.

"I will cooperate fully with their investigation, and anything I can do to help ease suffering or help in any way, I will do".

He never said anything to me or took any action that I was aware of that I understood in any way to be a warning that something awful like this was going to happen.
